The following instructions are valid for adding a Word document to a post or a page in WordPress.
1. First, place your cursor in the text area of your page or post where you want the link for your Word document to appear. Then, click on the “Add Media” button.
2. A popup box called “Insert Media” will appear. Click on the “Upload Files” link.
3. Click on the “Select Files” button and select the Word document you would like to upload.
4. After the file uploads, you will see it in your Media Library. In this example we have named the file “Test File.docx”
5. Click on the blue “Insert into post” button in the bottom right-hand corner.
6. You will now see a link in your text editor that points to the newly uploaded Word document. You can edit this text to say whatever you want. It says the title of the document by default.
